Due to some very rare abilities only diamonds have, they are needed for experiments concerning great heats, huge amount of radiation and several other areas.

Still better tools allowed preciser cutting, resulting in a varieties of cuts, designed to highlight different aspects of the diamond.
One of these cuts is the cushion cut. One might think this is an odd name, but as soon as you see a diamond cut this way, you'll know why its called like this. It really looks like an overstuffed cushion. This cut was developed in the 18th century and dominated its era. That's why cushion cut diamonds always have a antique charm about them, which makes them so attractive to people. Though this cut is not the most modern-day one and although there are cuts that make a diamond more shiny and flashy, I still prefer this diamond cut. It is something special and its becoming more and more rare to see one.
