Employment Pass (EP): Company owners and well-educated employees may be granted an Employment Pass by the Singapore government. For an immigrant professional to be issued an Employment Pass, he or she must have at least a college degree from a respectable university and his or her set wage rate must be above SG$2500.00 per month. The Employment Pass is valid for 1 to 2 years and is also renewable.
Entrepreneur Pass (EntrePass): Some entrepreneurs may not have achieved an academic degree but would still like to establish businesses in Singapore; in this case, they are granted the EntrePass. The EntrePass is valid and renewable for as long as the business operation is still thriving. The validity period is from one to 2 years.
S Pass: This work permit is issued to mid-level immigrant professionals and is based on their employer's quota eligibility. Furthermore, the immigrant professional must at the minimum be a holder of a technical diploma and earns a fixed salary of SGD1800.00 per month. With a validity time of one to two years, the S Pass is renewable as long as the person still works with his or her employer.
Miscellaneous Work Pass: Foreign journalists whose presence in the country is not sponsored by the Singapore government, foreign religious workers who will be speaking in conferences held in Singapore, or other foreign nationals who visit Singapore for short-term work assignments are issued the Miscellaneous Work Pass.
