A Very Spiritual Tattoo

A tattoo is a very personal thing. Often we get them to feel connected to another person such as a lover or a family member or to associate ourselves with a cause, either that we are involved with or for which we feel an emotional or philosophical attraction. When you have an image become a permanent part of your body, in an emotional and spiritual sense, that image becomes part of you and stays by your side at all times.
If you are like lots of us, you may feel a draw to the spiritual world and that interest is in you even if you are put off by religion like a lot of people are. This important task of serving as our spiritual guardians is one reason we like to have pictures and statues of angels around. It helps remind us that our angel is there all the time. So the next step of taking an angel tattoo seems like a logical next step. Often the particular angel you have as your tattoo is not one particular named angel. But the image represents that desire to for you to get peace at that "soul" level of your being, that level that only you really know is there.
But an angel tattoo can do more than just be a reminder of the presence of angels nearby when you need to know that. It can also be a reminder of your desire to be more spiritual and to think about big "religious" ideas and about the situation with your soul and your eternal well being. We all have good intentions to be more responsible about this side of life but life has a tendency to steal our time. But if your angel tattoo is on your arm or wrist or somewhere visible to you, she can gently remind you to take time for your soul and always be there to serve as that reminder that this part of you is important.
Angel tattoos are very popular because of what seems to be a universal yearning to have a connection to the spiritual world. And the designs are quite varied so you can have an angel who is a gentle comforter, an angel who is a fierce defender holding a sword or an angel who is a fearful fighter to frighten away anyone who would seek to keep you from being all you can be.
Sometimes a reason that is just as strong for people to enjoy an angel tattoo is because it is a sweet and poetic way to remind ourselves of someone we care about who may have crossed over into that spiritual world already. The angel in the tattoo can represent the real angel who may be serving as that spiritual connection you often feel with the departed loved one. The angel can be there to comfort you that while you may miss that dear one, you will see him or her in another life and the angel will be there to help make that happen.
Obviously there are a lot of reasons for getting a tattoo that are not spiritual. And if you also want to get a tattoo that is attractive and pretty cool looking, you might be able to find an angel tattoo pattern that meets all of your requirements. Not only that, because your angel tattoo speaks of your spiritual side, it can serve to bring you together with others who have an interest in spiritual things. In doing so, the angel is doing her job of enabling communication between you and "God" and in bringing people together in spiritual harmony too. That's a pretty hard working angel.
