Lands End – This world famous destination is great fun for all the family offering something to people young and old. Walk around the coast to sample the UK’s most breathtaking scenery or get your picture taken next to the well renowned Lands End signpost. There are galleries who host some stunning local art and also the famous Dr Who exhibition which samples some of the most famous characters like the Daleks, Cybermen, Clockwork Roberts and other favourites.
Minack Theatre – Built in the style of the historical Roman Amphitheatres this open air theatre is based very close to the Porthcurno coastline with gorgeous views overlooking the Atlantic ocean in the background. Open all year round visitors flock from around Britain to sample a sight much finer than any picture can show. As well as having its own coffee shop and information centre the theatre is home to some of the finest walking areas in Cornwall.
Portcurno Telegraph Museum – This brilliant award winning museum is based within the Portcurno valley and shows how the town was the epicenter for Cornwall and maybe England’s technology between Victorian times and World War II. Although the picturesque backdrop of the area would make you think that Portcurno is a place devoid of any technological know-how don’t be fooled in 1870 the first ever undersea telegraph cable was joined between Portcurno and Bombay!
The Tate Gallery, St Ives – Obviously a place like Cornwall is going to attract some of the worlds finest and popular landscape artists. Because of this the famous Tate Gallery based in London decided to build another Tate in St Ives. Opened in early 1993 the St Ives Tate Gallery boasts some world class art created in and/or connected with Cornwall.
